Biografi Singkat Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana

Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana (STA) lahir di Natal, Sumatera Utara, 11 Februari 1908. Beliau merupakan tokoh pembaharu, sastrawan, dan ahli tata Bahasa Indonesia.

STA masih keturunan keluarga kerajaan. Ibunya, Puti Samiah adalah seorang Minangkabau yang telah turun temurun menetap di Natal, Sumatera Utara. Puti Samiah merupakan keturunan Rajo Putih, salah seorang raja Kesultanan Indrapura yang mendirikan kerajaan Lingga Pura di Natal. Ayahnya, Raden Alisyahbana yang bergelar Sutan Arbi, adalah seorang guru.
